See Atlanta in a new way

Lately, I’ve been focused on my health and fitness, and trying to find fun ways to sweat, because, well...I’m a plate of rice and beans away from being a fluffier version of Ryn.  No worries, today is NOT the day we discuss this, stay focused!

When in Atlanta, you could ask just about anyone that’s lived in the city for a while and they’d tell you that Stone Mountain is a great way to break a sweat, and the best part is the price, FREE!

The signage at the base of the mountain indicates that it would take about 45 minutes to complete, however, in all reality, we were there for about 2 hours (took breaks on the way up, and then hung out at the top for a bit).

Some things to note:

  1. For $20.00, you can purchase a one time parking pass within the park (40.00 for season pass).  If you’re not interested in spending the 20 bucks just to park your car, there is a parking lot at 997 5th street, that is free and about a ¼ mile walk from the side entrance.
  2. Early mornings/evenings are ideal because the sun isn’t so strong, but hey to each his/her own
  3. Bring water
  4. Use the bathroom at the base of mountain because that’s all she wrote for the rest of the way up
  5. Stone Mountain is literally a mountain made of stone, so expect to be doing a lot of navigating around large rocks
  6. Have FUN!
