Meet Ryn Rose

Hi Friend!

First things first, thank you so much for visiting boredinthecities.com, whether this is your first visit or millionth, your support means the world to me.

By the way, I’m Ryn, nice to meet you (insert imaginary virtual hug/handshake, whatever you’re into, hehe). I am an unofficial ATLien (I live in Atlanta) and a self-proclaimed Global Citizen. My passion for experiencing new cultures, attractions, and activities, around the world has led me on a journey which includes living in 5 US cities and romping through 5 of the 7 continents on this wonderful planet. Often times, before my family and friends(framily) endeavor to plan a trip of their own, I am one of the first people they call to get ideas, and tips on some of the best places to go, things to do, and helpful information on how to make the most of their time and money. More often than not, I end up helping them plan their itinerary as well, because I get so excited about their adventure that I want to help. Their experiences also inspire me to try new things, and visit new places so the tables turn and then I can pick their brains on their experiences.

Why Boredinthecities? Several years ago, I moved to Atlanta from the DMV area, and while watching the sun set and marveling at the Atlanta Skyline (which is one of my favorite skylines, btw) one evening, it hit me that there was probably so much to do and see in this new city that I had chosen to call home, but I had no clue where to start. I knew I could call on my best friend google, but I wished there was somewhere I could go to get a quick and easy referral of sorts, with things that I should try. Here I was, a young woman, living in the heart of the city and I was bored…I was Bored in the City.

As I started working on what would become this site, I thought why just cover one city, when there are people in the same boat that I was in, in different cities. In addition, there are people going to visit these places for their vacations/holiday and this site could help them too. So, it went from Bored in the City to Bored in the Cities.

As one person, I don’t have all of the answers, and while it is true that every city may not be represented on this site at any given time, that is the goal. My vision for this site is to create a community of friends, where all of us can share our experiences with each other, just as my framily and I do.

And so the journey begins! I hope that through this community, you will be inspired to try something new, because it is my strong belief and I dare to call it an unequivocal truth, that there is “A world of things to do, in cities near you”!
