Valley of Fire was about an hour from the Las Vegas Strip. Keep in mind, half of the drive is on the highway and the rest is on a red, dirt road. That in itself is an adventure.
To get into the park, there's a fee:
- Day use entrance fee: $10.00 per vehicle
- Camping: $20.00 per night, plus$10.00 for sites with utility hook ups
Once you are there, there's so much to do once you are there - hiking, camping, sightseeing. While you are there, you have to check out at least three of these:
Lost City Museum
White Domes Trails
Mouse's Tank
Rainbow Vista Park
Elephant Rock
Silica Dome
Also check out the Petrified Logs/Wood. It's basically wood that has been stripped of all nutrients by the sun and turned into a fossil.
