AROUND TOWN
Hi Friends,
I haven’t been in the states long enough for the jet lag to wear off, but in true Bored in the Cities fashion, all I could think about was sharing with my B.I.C friends! I had the great fortune of spending 10 days in Tanzania with Yacht Week East Africa, juxtaposing “do it for the culture”, “do it for the gram”, and “it’s lit” all in one trip. With stops in Amsterdam, Dar es Salaam, and Zanzibar, via planes, bajaji’s, yachts, and dinghies, this trip reminded me why I love traveling, expanded my horizons, and truly allowed me to experience the world in a new way.
As I reflect on my experience, in an attempt to articulate the way it touched me, the word that continues to come to mind is “love”. I fell in love in East Africa! The culture, the language, the people, the energy, the food, and the environment, all took me in and wrapped me up in a cocoon of love. Now, I get to share some of that love with you.
In this series, I will do my best to encapsulate my adventure through East Africa. For those of you who’ve been there, maybe it will remind you of your experiences, and for those who haven’t had the opportunity to visit, I hope it will inspire you to do so.
Karibu,
Ryn
