Belize | You Better BELIZE I Made It Here!

Make sure you don't forget your bug spray! The moment we got out of the rental car I must have gotten bitten half a dozen times! Let my mistake become your lesson. "Spray before you play".

Here are some of my top must see places in Belize:

ATM Caves: If adventure is your thing then this is a must see! You'll hike and swim across rivers till you make your way through caves with ancient Mayan history. I recommend wearing something that is quick drying or that you don't mind getting wet along with good water shoes since you'll be in and out of the water quit a bit. (phones and camera's aren't allowed in the caved but I wish I would of brought mine for the hiking portion which is allowed since we ran into a cool snake!)

Lamanai Archaeological Reserve: (Close to the City of Orange Walk) We came early so we pretty much had the place to ourself till the end when boat loads of people started to arrive so if you rented a car I suggest getting there early to miss the crowds. We also went to the Mayan Ruins of Cahal Pech in San Pedro but personaly enjoyed Lamanai better.

Caye Caulker: You'll need to purchase a ticket to board a water taxi to get here. It was about $30 USD per person from Belize city. This small island has a very relaxed vibe with white sand beaches! This is where you'll be able to book excursions to snorkel or scuba with the sharks! If you packed a hammock this would be a great place to prop it up and watch the horizon. (don't snorkel on your own to the island at the end, we got eaten alive by giant mosquitos)
